An interview session with our Guest speaker DJ SWAPKING

Welcome and thanks for accepting our invitation with you.

Good evening everyone, Good evening to all our audience right here with us on tonight Chat Room. I will be hosting the show with you, 

but before I go further, I will like to introduce my humble self to you. 

My name is Felix E.Okwuchukwu basically known by my friends, fans and business partners out there as Felix Walker (@felixwalker_9ja). On behalf of the Organization, we choose to unveil our new project to every single one of you reading and following our programs.

Question 1: May we know you sir?

DJ SWAPKING: Of course, I’m by name Vembe Sesugh Emmanuel formerly known as Dj swapkid but now known as Dj swapking. My parent’s name is Mr. & Mrs. David Vembe. I’m the fifth born from a family of seven. Though, one is late. I’m from Makurdi local government area of Benue State.
FELIX WALKER: Sorry for the lost.
DJ SWAPKING: Thanks.
FELIX WALKER: You’re welcome.
DJ SWAPKING: I attended my primary school at police children school Makurdi, Benue State and my secondary school at Federal Government College Vandeikya, Benue State. I’m a 300 level Student of the faculty of Economics of Benue State University (Bsu). I must say that Economics is not an easy course.
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahaha.

Question2:  Why did you change your name from Dj swapkid to Dj swapking?

DJ SWAPKING: I have come a long way; I answered Dj swapking because the Dj swapkid is now a king. When I started gaining interest in my field as a Dj, I started as Dj Emmycool but when I started professionally; my boss (Dj eva-ready) asked “what my stage name was”. I was confused, so I searched for one and discovered the word swap from Nokia Swap. I like the advert, so I told my boss
“swap”.
FELIX WALKER: Wow!!!
DJ SWAPKING: That is Dj swap but I added kid because I’m a fan of Wizkid.
FELIX WALKER: That's really amazing sir.
DJ SWAPKING: But I felt that something is missing. As I grew in the industry, I felt that my name should also grow. So I changed my name from Dj swapkid to Dj swapking.
FELIX WALKER: Thanks for your answers.
FELIX WALKER: Ok, let's move to question 3.

Question 3: Having known you as a Dj, what can your families and friends say about you?
That’s the good and bad aspect of you becoming a professional Dj.

DJ SWAPKING: Hmmm, I will say that it hasn’t been easy for family and friends.
FELIX WALKER: Ok.
FELIX WALKER: Please can you add more to light it?
DJ SWAPKING: No parent trains a child to be a Dj, it’s now parents are learning to accept their children’s dream but God bless my parents and my mum has been supportive towards my dream. My friends too have been supportive, may God bless everyone supporting my brand.
FELIX WALKER: Amen.
 DJ SWAPKING: As you can see, I have a friend here with me.
FELIX WALKER: Yeah I can see her, she is looking beautiful.
DJ SWAPKING: You can say that again.
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahahahaha.  

FELIX WALKER: Here with us is no other person but Dj swapking himself. You’re really moving high.
DJ SWAPKING: Thanks.
FELIX WALKER: Let's move to question 4.
DJ SWAPKING: Ok.

Question 4: What have been your greatest achievements as a Dj and what are your weaknesses?

DJ SWAPKING: I consider everyday event an achievement but let’s say that when I was nominated For BEA Awards (Benue State University Entertainment Awards),I was happy that my people saw what I did and appreciated it. So thanks to Clint fashion Entertainment and fans for nominating me, thou I didn't win but I consider it an honor to be on the list.
DJ SWAPKING: My weakness has been sponsorship, combining work and school has not been easy but all thanks to papa God. Sometimes,shows clash with school activities, there was a day I had to run from my exam Hall after my test to an event centre just to meet very angry event organizers.
FELIX WALKER: Hahaha….Sorry.
DJ SWAPKING: Hahaha its part of the experience and fun of the industry. I mean you can't blame, them they put in work too.
FELIX WALKER: Are you ready question 5?
DJ SWAPKING: Yeah.

Bonus Question

FELIX WALKER: But before we ask you your next question, the woman you earlier introduced, who is she to you?
DJ SWAPKING: Like I said before, she is my very close friend. We went to the same secondary school (Federal Government College Vandeikya). I must say that she has been very supportive to me as a person and a brand.
FELIX WALKER: That's great.
DJ SWAPKING: I want to use this medium to say thank you to her and every friend of Dj swapking.
FELIX WALKER: You are welcome dear. So can we know her name.
DJ SWAPKING: Felicia Achikpi.
FELIX WALKER: Ok.
FELIX WALKER: Nice meeting you with the hottest Dj ever.
FELICIA ACHIKPI: (Smiles) it’s a pleasure.
FELIX WALKER: Sorry, don't be offended. Are you also from Benue State?
FELICIA ACHIKPI: I’m from Cross River State but I attended my school here in Makurdi at University of Agriculture Makurdi.
FELIX WALKER: Wow! That's amazing.
FELICIA ACHIKPI: Really you’re funny.
FELIX WALKER: Hope I’m not stressing you?
FELICIA ACHIKPI: No you’re not.
FELIX WALKER: Ok. Back to Question 5.
DJ SWAPKING: Yeah.

Question 5: Are you into a relationship?

DJ SWAPKING: Hahahaha. Really, why this question? (laughing).
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahhhaha. That question was from a friend, who is by name Patrick Ogaba.
DJ SWAPKING: Ok I’m not into a relationship at the moment but I’m hoping that the right girl will come soon. (Smiles at Felicia)

FELIX WALKER: Make us understand, do you have anything to do with Felicia?
DJ SWAPKING: We are friends.
FELIX WALKER: Its ok my country people. Dj swapking is single and searching for one.
DJ SWAPKING: Confirmed, ladies I’m single.
FELICIA ACHIKPI: Don't be shy Ladies.
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahahahah. You both are funny.
DJ SWAPKING: Laughing.
FELICIA ACHIKPI: Laughing.
FELIX WALKER: Felicia, I can't believe that you’re also laughing.
FELIX WALKER: Felicia is cool.
DJ SWAPKING: She can share, that's what friends do.
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahahaha (FELICIA ACHIKPI also laughing).
FELIX WALKER: Ok, back to questions.
DJ SWAPKING: Yea.

Question 6: We believe that as a Dj, you should have done a lot of collections with many Artiste and also with your other Djs in general. You work with different Djs since you started this movement as a Dj. What are their names?

DJ SWAPKING: Yeah, I have worked with my boss Dj Eva-ready and still working with him. Others are Dj Sead, Dj Kelx, Dj Dante and Dj Penny at entertainer’s night. I have also met DJs like Dj Tony, Dj Tom-Tom and I have been opportune to chat with Dj Kaywise, Dj Neptune and Dj Spicey, they are very amazing people.
FELIX WALKER:  Wow!!! You are really going to be a celebrity Dj one day.
DJ SWAPKING: I recently dropped a song with Blueboi tittled feeling me. Very nice upcoming artist, who base in Lagos, Nigeria. The song was produced by Young John the Wicked Producer and Playbob.
FELIX WALKER:  Nice one.
DJ SWAPKING: Yeah.
FELIX WALKER: Having mentioned this Djs name, I can see that this amazing Djswapking is really ready to go far.
DJ SWAPKING: Yes, with God I’m sure that the sky is my starting point.
FELIX WALKER: Amen.
FELIX WALKER: Back to Questions.
DJ SWAPKING: Ok.

Question 7: As an upcoming Dj, have you been signed into any record label? Or are you working with any crew.

DJ SWAPKING: Of course, I’m a proud member of Durban Entertainment and SMAT link promotions. I’m also the official Dj of MSTC music group but I’m not officially signed to any record label yet.
FELIX WALKER: That's awesome.
FELIX WALKER: Thanks.
FELIX WALKER: Felicia I hope you are enjoying this?
FELICIA ACHIKPI: Yeah, I’m feeling good. Sure, I’m I don't know so much about entertainment. I know more every minute spent here.
DJ SWAPKING: Hahahahaha
FELIX WALKER: Hahahaha, don't worry dear you will get to know more about it soon. Finally, before we leave the studio tonight let's go for a short break and we’ll be right back to complete all we have started with our guests for the week.

Question 8: You being a Dj, from the North central, how is the Entertainment Industry supporting your business as a Dj and I hope you have no beef with your co-Djs?

DJ SWAPKING: Tricky question.
FELIX WALKER: Hahahahaha.
DJ SWAPKING: I can say that one of the main challenge in Benue State, is that the pay here is very small and the people are not encouraging and supportive. Every day, new DJs are coming up into the industry but like I told people, the industry is big enough for everyone just like you. Just keep doing you what you know best.
FELIX WALKER: Ok that’s painful. More lights please.
DJ SWAPKING: DJs are not respected as they should be respected at event Centre. Forgetting that we are the life of every event happening around the vicinity today.
FELIX WALKER: Wow! That’s encouraging.
DJ SWAPKING: Everybody with a laptop in Benue State is a Dj.
FELIX WALKER: Really, that’s amazing. I’m short of words. I heard of a Dj that was slapped at an event. Really, that's not professional to me.
DJ SWAPKING: That's too bad. I have no beef with any Dj or co-Djs, I’m too busy working.
FELIX WALKER: keep working like FEKLIX WALKER.
(All laughing at the moment).
FELIX WALKER: Yeah, here comes the end of the Chat Room.
DJ SWAPKING: Thanks sir.
FELIX WALKER: But before we leave, in a brief word what do you have in mind to tell those upcoming Djs out there.
DJ SWAPKING: keep your good work up and be the best among the rest. To every upcoming Dj out there, Baba this industry is not funny. Talent alone isn’t enough to see you through. You have to be hard working, committed, patient and be ready to learn always. Last, fear God!!!!!!
FELIX WALKER: Wow, what an encouragement from a brother.
FELIX WALKER: I hope that you all are hearing this from DJ SWAPKING.
DJ SWAPKING: And make sure that you are always around the right company.
